History

The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department (EEE) was founded in 1981 as part of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of Ege University. In 1982, the Department of EEE was incorporated into the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the newly established Dokuz Eylül University. The Department of EEE started its graduate and undergraduate programs in the academic years of 1981-1982 and 1982-1983, respectively. The department adopted English as its teaching language for the graduate program in 1987 and for the undergraduate program in 1993.
Our Graduate Programmes (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) train their students in the study areas of circuits and systems, electronics, electromagnetics, electrical machines, signal processing, control, and telecommunications and aim to provide its graduates with the abilities to conduct independent research, participating in research and development projects as part of the project staff, and disseminating outcomes of their research work by publishing in conference proceedings and scientific journals.
